Rogue One Wins Funko's Star Wars NYCC Exclusives

September 5, 2017

The latest batch of NYCC exclusive Funko Pop! figures includes a number of characters from Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. Next month, one of the largest comic book and pop culture conventions in the world will arrive. Though not as well-known as its San Diego counterpart, the New York Comic Con has grown over the years to become a must-see expo. Along with the likes of comic creators and cosplayers, the con will also host a number of movie and TV panels that will likely reveal information about a number of upcoming genre projects.

For one, we know the first trailer for Pacific Rim Uprising will debut at NYCC. It’s also likely that a number of other trailers will premiere at the con. Sadly, The Last Jedi is unlikely to be among them. Still, with the Star Wars movie coming this Christmas and the new season of Rebels arriving soon, fans can likely expect some sort of news regarding the galaxy far, far away. If nothing else, NYCC will offer plenty of chances to get new Star Wars merchandise.

Funko has just unveiled the next round of their NYCC exclusive Pop! figures, with a num

ber of new Rogue One and Star Wars vinyls arriving next month. Showcased in the video above, many of the toys will be variations on existing figures, with the exception of the two bounty hunters.

For the Rogue One line, the new figures for K-2SO, Saw Gerrera, and Jyn Erso follow previously released Pop!s featuring the characters. The new K-2 features him holding a blaster, moments before his death. The Saw figure, meanwhile, provides the final version of the character as well, where his previous Funko showcased his look from the beginning of the film. Finally, the Jyn figure has her in her Imperial disguise.

Along with the Rogue One characters, there’s a new color of Death Star droid, an spin on previous toys featuring the character. There’s also a new figure of Boba Fett in his ship Slave I. Finally, bounty hunter Dengar makes his Funko debut. Along with Boba Fett, Dengar was one of the many bounty hunters Vader hires to seek out the Rebels in Empire Strikes Back. Now, he finally joins his comrades, many of whom have already been given the Pop! treatment.

Along with the Star Wars figures, new Game of Thrones Pop!s will also arrive as part of Funko’s NYCC exclusive line. They’ll join new WWE and DC toys, and more character lines are likely right around the corner.
